662 curfew violators fined

Imphal, April 14 2020:
In view of the ongoing lockdown which has been extended to May 3, the Police Department continued to crack down on violators of lockdown/curfew during which 662 violators were detained along with 365 vehicles, informed a statement issued by Addl Director General of Police.
The detained persons were produced before the Magistrates concerned and fines of Rs 50,500/- was imposed.
Police Department appealed to public to follow guidelines issued by the Government and to stay indoors for their own safety and those coming out to purchase medicines/grocery items on market days are requested to maintain
social distancing, it said.
