Imphal, December 13 2024:
While expressing that the on going crisis in Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) is due to failure by authorities concerned to shoulder responsibilities, Joint Students' Co-ordination Committee (JSCC) said that it will start looking into the BoSEM crisis to ensure that career of the students does not get affected.
JSCC is a joint body of Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF), Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA), Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) and another student union.
In a release, JSCC expressed apprehension that-the strike launched by BoSEM staffers might affect the High School Leaving Certificate Examination.
All the officials responsible for overseeing Education department should bear the consequences if the crisis in BoSEM affects the students, it cautioned, and committee appealed to authorities concerned to address the crisis at the earliest.
Pointing out that BoSEM secretary and controller of examinations are all in-charges, the release questioned how an exam conducting body like BoSEM is operated by in-charges.
It is equally surprising that secretary and controller of examinations are not yet appointed despite advertisement for recruitments, the release continued, while demanding authorities concerned to fill the two vacancies.
