Projects inaugurated, foundation laid

Chief minister N Biren has inaugurated various projects for 11 departments worth Rs 176.72 crore taken up under 100 days Action Points for first 100 days of the new BJP government and also laid foundation stones for different projects worth Rs 11.50 crore.
The chief minister also distributed benefits of schemes under various departments worth Rs 3.28 crore during an event at City Convention Centre here on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, CM Biren appreciated people of Manipur for their trust reposed on the government and said that government has succeeded in turning its words into action.
Further appreciating bureaucrats and security personnel for their commitment in supporting the government to realise its dream, N Biren asserted that government delivers what it promises.
The CM said that the government follows this commitment and at the same time has an efficient group of ministers who are fully committed to maintaining transparency, quality and meeting deadlines.
At the end of 100 days, the government will announce the target for one-year, he added.
The government is able to achieve its target with the support and cooperation of the people, he said and further lauded the state police, DGP, NAB, intelligence and Assam Rifles for the success witnessed in War on Drugs 2.0 with voluntary support from public.
The chief minister also clarified that the government is not against anyone, community or religion and merely asking for all to be against poppy plantation, drug trafficking, etc.
During the event, CM Biren virtually inaugurated 25 veterinary hospitals and 58 dispensaries at different locations and virtually laid foundation stones for construction of two new government IITs under Enhancing Skill Development Infrastructure (ESDI) at Noney and Pherzawl under the labour department and inaugurated four 2x5 MVA, 33/11 kV sub station at Wangjing and Heirok in Thoubal district, Leimapokpam in Bishnupur district and Hiyangthang in Imphal West and Heingang in Imphal East.
Under the social welfare department, the chief minister also distributed benefits to 16,000 beneficiaries under Manipur Old Age Pension scheme and to 10,000 beneficiaries of the Chief Minister's Widow Pension Scheme.
He also inaugurated fish hatcheries under Blue Revolution at Nambol re-circulatory aquaculture system in Imphal West and distributed Water & Soil Testing Kits to 50 fish farmers under the fisheries department.
Under the tourism department, a Course on Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition will be started and also launched Tourism policy and Tourism calendar.
The chief minister also distributed tablets to teachers under Star Education programme and tablets to students under state wide integrated education management system and digital learning platform.
Further, the chief minister flagged off 120 students for industry linked training in IT/ ITES sector to Guwahati.
A short film on the achievement of the "War on Drugs" produced by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) was also shown as part of the function.
Departments also showed short films highlighting their achievements during the function.
