AR organises medical, blood donation camp

Imphal, January 13 2015:
40 Assam Rifles (AR) of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a medical camp at Andro as part of Operation Sadbhavana on 12 January 2015.The camp was conducted under the supervision of Medical Officer and paramedical staff of 40 Assam Rifles.
Besides providing treatment, free medicines for the various ailments the patients with much severe symptoms were referred to Govt.Medical Hospital/ RIMS.
Free diagnostics test for malaria and diabetes were also conducted by the team.
About 400 patients, including women and children from adjoining villages were treated/ diagnosed during the camp.
A lecture on health awareness was also delivered by the Medical Officer in which he emphasized on the maintenance of hygiene and sanitation as well as preventive measures for various deadly diseases.
In another endeavor, 12 BIHAR of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) in association with Department of Blood Bank, Shija Hospital conducted a 'Voluntary Blood Donation Camp' today at the MI Room of the unit at Tulihal.
The Commanding Officer of 12 BIHAR inaugurated the event and reiterated the importance of blood donation in saving many precious lives.
The event saw active participation from civilians and troops of the Battalion.
Medical Officer of the unit delivered an awareness lecture on "Voluntary Blood Donation", Health, Hygiene and Sanitation on the occasion.
