Youth gospel and sports meet conducted

Tamenglong, November 12 2024: The Barak Zone Office and the Youth Coordinating Committee of the Rongmei Baptist Churches Council (RBCC) organized the first ever Youth Gospel Meet and Sports Event under the theme "Effort to keep the unity" (Ephesians 4:3) at Chingkao Baptist Church in Chingkao village under Tousem subdivision today.

The event is set to run from November 11 to November 16, 2024 .

The opening ceremony was graced by eminent guests, including chief guest Poukhuan Pamei, social worker and guest of honour Poukhinlung Pamei, Director of PESCH NGO.

Poukhuan Pamei inaugurated the event by hoisting the event flag, followed by a traditional cultural dance performance by the Women Society of Chingkao Baptist Church.

The "Hoi Kaomei" Men's Fellowship also added to the celebration with a spirited performance.

Meanwhile, Namkhinlung Pamei presented the prizes for football and volleyball championship.

Poukhuan Pamei also contributed equipment for both sports to support the competitions.

The meet attracted the participation of 16 churches, including 14 men's football teams and five women's volleyball teams from across the Barak Zone churches.

The opening day concluded with an exhibition football match between the men's departments of Chingkao Baptist Church and Makuai Baptist Church.

The gathering represents a significant effort in fostering unity and spiritual growth among the youth of the Barak Zone through sports and community activities.
