Imphal, December 11 2012:
Setting December 20 as the deadline, Meira Paibis and members of local Clubs and Organizations of Haobam Marak have threatened to intensify their agitations if the State Government does not bring out the culprits involved in brutal murder of L Mema, who was found dead with her throat slit on November 30 last near a canal connecting Iroishemba and Lamdeng under Lamphel Police Station.
A sit-in-protest was staged at the premises of SICO Club in Haobam Marak Lourembam Leikai today condemning the brutal killing of L Mema.
The protest demonstration was organised jointly by SICO Club and the Meira Paibis of four localities including Irom Leikai, Lourembam Leikai, Keisam Leikai and Chingtham Leikai of Haobam Marak.
Speaking to mediapersons on the sideline of the demonstration, one Meira Paibi described the killing of L Mema as a beastly act which deserves to be condemned in the strongest term by whole human community.
She lamented that the government has not been able to bring out the culprits involved in the killing till today and this is really unfortunate.
The government should bring out the persons involved in the beastly act by December 20 failing which the Meira Paibis, Clubs and organizations of the localities would take up intense agitations including imposition of bandhs and blockades along with other CSOs of the state.
