Jiri police seize 40,500 WIN packets

Jiribam, October 11 2019: A team of Anti Drug Cell, Jiribam Police led by Addl SP (Ops) Ak Sadananda seized 40,500 WIN cigarette packets from a Truck while conducting frisking and checking along NH-37, Jiribam today.

In a press meet, SP Jiribam Police M Mubi Singh said Anti Drug Cell Jiribam Police conducted checking and frisking of vehicle under the supervision of Addl SP (Ops) Ak Sadananda following a tip that a truck was used to transport illegal items along the NH-37 by changing its number plate frequently.

He continued that they seized the pile of cigarettes stuff inside a truck which was reportedly being shipped from Myanmar.

The seized items is worth Rs 15 lakh in Indian market, he added.

He further said a case has been registered at Jiribam Police Station to carry out further investigation.
