1 dies, 26 fresh Covid cases confirmed

Imphal, August 11 2022:
A person died while 26 people were found infected by Covid-19, out of 745 samples tested on Thursday, thereby registering 3.5 per cent test positivity rate.
The deceased person, who was from Imphal West, had co morbidities and had taken the first dose of Covid vaccine.
Imphal West topped the number of new Covid cases for the day with 10 confirmed cases followed by Imphal East with six cases, Churachandpur with three cases, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Ukhrul two , ases each and one case in Chandel.
In all, 42 people were also discharged on Thursday from home isolation (25), three each from RIMS and SHRI, and one from JNIMS, while back-logged cases of discharged patients accounted for 10 .
As on Thursday, there are 27 beds vacant out of 38 Covid beds in JNIMS and 48 out of 62 Covid beds in RIMS.
So far, the state has record ed 2224 positive cases and 21 deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month accounted for 398 of the new positive cases and 12 fatalities.
A total of 112 D type Oxygen cylinders and 13 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities on Wednesday, while 3099 vaccine doses were administered, which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 31,38,966, out of which, 16,22,815 have been inoculated with first dose 12,93,294 with second dose and 2,22,857 with precautionary doses.
