Imphal, August 11, 2014:
As in previous years, underground organisations fighting for liberation of the Northeast region have jointly called to prohibit celebration of India's Independence Day in the region on 15 August 2014 maintaining that Western Southeast Asian Region is not a part India.
In this regard, these underground organisations have also announced that a general strike will be observed from 1 am to 5.30 pm in the entire region of the Western Southeast Asia on August 1 and during these hours, only essential services, emergency measures, media and religious activities would exempted from the purview of the general strike.
In a joint 'solidarity statement' issued to the media today, Co-ordination Committee (CorCom) of six Manipur-based UG groups, Hynnewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO), National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB), National Liberation Front of Twipra (NLFT) and United Liberation Front of Asom-I (ULFA-I) categorically stated that the peoples of Western Southeast Asian Region are facing the catastrophe due the forcible occupation of the region by the Indian oppressive regime.
"Having deprived of the right to determine their own future, the people of the region are facing untold miseries.
They are facing extinction in their own land due the systematic influx of mainland Indians and indigenous culture of the region is at stake due to rapid Indianisation.
Even the right to live is threatened by the imposition of many draconian laws.
In order to regain our sovereignty, the people of the region have been battling the Indian security forces for decades.
In the name of fighting insurgency, India Government is using every possible methods including violence, Military Civil Action Program and even population invasion population invention from foreign who are loyal to India as well mainland India to swamp with and capture the entire Region.
Champion of the foreigner issue before the recent General Election of India 2014, the present Delhi regime, after the election has made an about turn and instead of keeping their election promises has now softened their policies towards the foreigners who are living in our region.
Indian political parties are accusing each other that foreigners are "vote banks" to win elections either in state assemblies or national ones.
Government are the same; past, present, or even the future Indian regimes will act the same way for sure.
Because population invasion is India's hidden agenda to capture the land of our region.
Foreigners are very loyal to India is far better than the indigenous people of the region whom India sees as disloyal to "Mother India", the joint statement asserted.
It went on to day that "in this scheme, foreigners from our neighbourhood including that of India are taking a major role to assimilate the indigenous peoples to be an Indian by various means even by mixing of blood.
This hidden agenda is neither the Vote Bank nor Humanitarian Services claimed by the Indian old fox politicians.
It is a genocide of the indigenous peoples of the WESEA region being carried out silently, secretly and systematic to achieve occupation of this indigenous habitat by India.
It is obvious that what India wants is the land and its resources not the disloyal peoples of the region.
Hence to overthrow Indian colonial occupation of our region, with the united and collective struggle of our peoples, we the above mentioned Revolutionary Organizations of the WESEA Region call upon the entire peoples of Our Region to come forward display OUR solidarity against India, the common enemy", the joint statement said.
It further said, "Suspension of Operation", "Cease Fire" or "Talk" with India for decades or even a century will bring nothing to our region.
These are merely tricks of Indian dirty political game to wear us out.
"Keeping faith in the collective strength of our Region, we appeal to those who are under the Suspension of Operation or Cease Fire as well to come forward to resist and fight jointly against the Indian Occupation", the joint statement exhorted.
Meanwhile, describing it as 'transfer of colonial hegemonic power', KCP (MC) has called a public curfew from 6 am to 6pm on August 15 to boycott the India's Independence Day celebration in Manipur.
