Imphal, April 11 2020:
MPCC (Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee) is "deeply disappointed" with the Government for poor conduct and handling of crowds at markets places during the lockdown relaxation hours today, said the committee in a statement.
Sudden outburst of huge crowds at various markets had jeopardised social distancing, it said adding the lockdown would have little meaning if people do not follow the safety guidelines and advisories issued by the Government and health authority.
The order issued by the State Government directing shops and markets to open from 6 am till 11 am today was in violation of the MHA guideline for citizens to follow during lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic, MPCC claimed demanding the Government to constitute an appropriate inquiry commission to investigate today's incident.
