TYCM plans protest over tribal issues

Imphal, December 10 2024: Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters, has announced staging of sit-in protest near TBCI from 11.30 am Friday as part of its ongoing efforts to pressurise the state government address their grievances and fulfil their charter of demands.

In a press statement, TYCM-GHQ reiterated its commitment to wellbeing of the tribal communities of Manipur, and uphold inherent rights to live with dignity and liberty.

The council emphasised the role of the youth in shaping the future under the principle that "Youths are the Pillar of the Nation" .

"It is time for us to unite and raise our voices collectively to pressurise the state government to address our grievances and fulfil our charter of demands, the statement said and called upon the tribal communities to support the collective effort, towards ensuring justice and equality for the tribal communities in Manipur.

It urged all members of the tribal communities to actively participate, highlighting that their responsible contribution and strong voice would ensure a future where the tribal communities of Manipur live with dignity and liberty.

TYCM-GHQ further appealed for unity and collective action, stating that the active participation of the people would play a critical role in ensuring that the tribal communities are heard and respected.
