Imphal, December 10 2021:
National People's Party (NPP), Manipur working president MLA L Jayantakumar has charged the BJP government led by chief minister N Biren of violating rights of the people and rendering the democratic and parliamentary form of government meaningless.
While opening an office of NPP Khurai Block at Khurai Konsam Leikai on Friday, Jayantakumar said that the common people are living in fear of facing police action if they make any comment against the policies of the government.
The public are no longer free in expressing their opinions under the BJP government, which has been suppressing the right to life, freedom of expression and right to equality before law.

Moreover, the party will promote potential of the state's human resource by empowering the youth and women, he said while urging the public to support NPP in the 2022 state assembly election.
The party's intending candidate in Khurai assembly constituency Laitonjam Jayananda said that NPP is gaining strength and popularity in the state as well as in other parts of the northeast region.
He feels proud to become a member of the party, Jayananda said and urged the public to support him and the party in the forthcoming election.
He also assured of always working closely with the public.
NPP Khurai Block president K Prafullo and other party leaders also attended the event.
