Imphal, November 10 2011: A unit level training programme on HIV/AIDS for Police personnel was held in the premises of 7th Bn Manipur Rifles at Khabeisoi today.

The training programme was organized jointly for the personnel of 6th Manipur Rifles posted in Imphal and 7th Manipur Rifles.

More than 150 personnel including Commandant, Officers, Unit doctors, JCOs, NCOs and other ranks participated in the training programme during which Distrit AIDS Control Officer, Imphal East Dr M Birchandra Singh and District AIDS Control Officer, Imphal West Dr RK Laksana delivered lectures on HIV/AIDS covering history of HIV/AIDS, global/national/state scenario, mode of transmission and prevention, basic facts about HIV/AIDS/STDs including signs and symptoms, post-exposure prophylaxis and blood safety.
