Imphal, August 08 2015 : MLA of 41-Chandel A/C St Nunghlung Victor along with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chandel Robert Kshetrimayum visited the flood and landslide affected people of the District on Saturday.

The MLA and the DC who were accompanied by CNPO attended a condolence service held at Grace English H/S Sugnu, for the Joumoul villagers killed in the landslide.

The team proceeded to the relief camp at Utangpokpi village and gave relief materials to the affected inmates of the camp.

At Chakpikarong, the team inspected the condition of the CHC Chakpikarong, Govt H/School and Rungchang village and interacted with the chiefs and the community leaders.

They assured all possible help including drinking water, and resumption of normal classes in Chakpikarong Government Higher Secondary School which have been disrupted due to damages by floods.

It was also assured that the problems faced by CHC Chakpikarong would be resolved soon.

Later, CNPO while briefing media thanked the MLA and the DC for their concern for the affected people by taking up timely relief initiatives.
