Three held with 450 gram heroin

Troops of 36 Assam Rifles apprehended one Mangliansiam Phiamphu (22), son of Chinsuankap of Suangphu village under Singhat sub-division on Saturday and recovered 25 soap cases suspected to contain heroin weighing approximately 350 gm in total and worth Rs 1.40 crore in the market from Selshi village.
Based on inputs about movement of a drug peddler, a team of AR under the command of major SK Das established a vehicle check post at Selshi village and detained a person.
During the Search, the AR troops recovered the suspected heroin along with one small axe and Rs 1720 in cash.
The accused along with the seized items has been handed over to Churachandpur police station where a case has been registered against the accused and further investigation underway to trace his accomplices, said a report.
Meanwhile, a team of Narcotic Cell, Imphal East along with executive magistrate and volunteers YADA arrested two individuals along with 10 grams heroin, which they hid iri another person's house without the knowledge of the house owner.
The Cell team led by OC Inspector Kh Debkumar conducted raid at the house of one Md Latif of Keirao Sa-bal Leikai on Saturday upon getting specific information and seized 10 grams of heroin pdt inside 30 vials.
The two individuals namely Md Ramijuddih alias Lakou (46) son of late Md Kayamuddin and Md Firqz Khan (35) son of Md Saheruddin both of Keirao Sabal Leikai were also arrested from the nearby area.
Upon questioning, it came to light that the duo hid the drug in the house of Md Latif without his knowledge to prevent seizure and arrest.
The arrested duo along with the seized heroin powder has been handed over to Irilbung police station for further legal actions.
