Free eye camp

A free eye camp was organised by Loktak Power Station in collaboration with Shija Eye Care Foundation, Imphal at Ningthoukhong Awang community hall today, under its "Netra Jyoti" programme as part of CSR-SD 2017-18 .
The camp was inaugurated by Convenor Vision Document, BJP Manipur Pradesh, Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh who attended the event as chief guest and Chief Engineer (I/c), Loktak Power Station, Bedi Ram, the guest of honour, in the presence of visiting doctors, senior doctors and officials of NHPC .
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh lauded the efforts of Loktak Power Station for helping the needy and the underprivileged by providing medical facilities .
Bedi Ram said that the Loktak Power Station has been conducting free cataract operations and distributing free spectacles/medicines to the patients .
He urged the patients with eye defects to avail the opportunities .
Around 270 numbers of patients with ailments like Cataract, Pterygium, Refractive error, infections etc were attended to by the doctors where a total of 49 patients were detected with cataract cases and 29 with Pterygium cases, who will be operated for free of cost .
Free advice and medication were also provided to all visiting patients .
Dr K Romen of Eye Care Foundation, Shija Hospital and CMO, Loktak, Ch Premananda were also present at the camp.
