NESO to fight against rights violations

North East Students Organisation (NESO) will fight rampant human rights violations in the North East region, according to newly elected NESO general secretary Sinam Prakash.
The NESO leader also said that the students' body will address the matter where mainland Indian continue to ill-treat the people of the North East.
He was speaking during the felicitation programme organised for him by All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) today.
With the election of Sinam Prakash as the general secretary of North East Students Organisation (NESO) will have advantage for the people to focus issues confronting in Manipur.
Deepanjit Ningthouja, general secretary of the students' union said for years issues confronting the state could not be efficiently focussed at the NESO level but "with Sinam Prakash election to the important NESO post, things will be better now" .
Issues like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), influx and education can now be tackled with ease at the NESO level with Sinam Prakash election to the post of the general secretary, said Deepanjit Ningthiuja.
Khomdram Ratan, advisor of AMSU highlighted how the NESO had mobilised itself to protect the North Easterners during the recent problem with the people from the region in the mainland India.
