A delegation comprising eight members of Coordinating Committee (CC) of All Tribal students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) and Joint Action Committee (JAC), Churachandpur on Wednesday left Imphal for Delhi to meet Central leaders in connection with the passing of the three Bills by the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
According to a source, the team was led by Coordinating Committee ATSUM Convenor Muan Tombing.
Though, it was not immediately known who all the tribal leaders will meet in Delhi, it has been speculated that they are likely to approach the President Pranab Mukherjee; Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other Central and tribal leaders.
ATSUM had announced that the future course of actions will be taken after returning from Delhi.
It may be recalled that the ATSUM had given two deadline to the tribal MLAs to resign from their membership of Manipur Legislative Assembly (September 30 and October 3).However, not all have resigned even after the deadline had expired.
Only four MLAs from Naga Peoples Front (NPF) have resigned so far.
ATSUM has said that it would not hold talk unless Manipur Government withdraws the three Bills passed by Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 last.
