Volunteers in Thoubal helping flood victims

Imphal, August 07 2015 : Nehru Yuva Kendra, Thoubal has been actively involved in distribution of drinking water to the flood affected areas of Thoubal district.

District Youth Coordinator, NYK Thoubal is continuously working together with the Deputy Commissioner TRanjit, IAS and Sub Divisional Officer, Kakching Charanjit, Executive Engineer, Md Samat and Chief Medical Officer, Thoubal Dr Jayanta regarding the latest developments of flood victims, said a release by District Youth Coordinator NYK Thoubal.

The release said that NYK volunteers have been deputed to PHED and Health Department to assist in health care delivery and distribution of drinking water in severely affected villages particularly those living in the relief camps at Tentha, Samaram, Khangabok villages.

Meanwhile, Hangul Muslim Club, Ngakhapat Youth Development Association, Hangul Youth Social Action Committee joined hands together and helped to repair the embankments of river and in distributing relief materials to the affected people camping at the Merciful English School, Hangul.

The Santhe lMakha Model Club, Santhel Mamang Pole Star Club and Santhel Social Club are also helping the people in the Muslim villages.

The YDO, TYPA and YPA of Sora village under Kakching Block are also helping the people in distributing relief materials and bleaching powder to the people.

Wabagai Social Welfare Club, Wabagai Educational Club, Yangbi Mamang Development Club, WALIDA and Lamjao Part-I Development Club are also helping the flood affected people in distributing drinking water with the help of Pradhans of the area.

Ereima Club and Wisdom Club, Sugnu are also actively supporting the MLA in distributing relief materials and drinking water at Sugnu while Wangoo Sandangkhong Social Welfare Club and Wangoo Ideal Club are also taking part in distribution of rice, food items and drinking water.

Mentor Club of NYK Thoubal and Educational Guide Centre of Moijing are continuously helping the homeless people in Muslim villages of Thoubal.

The Club is transporting aged people and household materials to safer places while distributing drinking water with the help of PHED.

The Club is also assisting the Pradhan and SDO, Thoubal in distributing relief materials to the flood affected families.

Youth leaders of Keirak in Kakching block have also repaired the inter village road which was severely affected by the recent flood.

In the meantime, the DC Thoubal is entrusting the DYC to visit the worse affected villages by flood in the district.

Meanwhile, cadres of Popular Front of India, Manipur State on Friday distributed drinking water to the flood affected villagers at Khangabok Cherapur.
