IDCF campaign begins in Thoubal

Thoubal, July 07 2022:
Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) for Thoubal district has been launched on Thursday by Thoubal deputy commissioner A Subhash Singh in a programme organised by District Health Society, Thoubal.
IDCF consists of a set of activities to be carried out in an intensified manner for prevention and control of death due to dehydration from diarrhoea.
This year the theme is "Zero Child Death due to Diarrhoea".
Speaking at the function, A Subhash informed that IDCF is organised with an objective to create awareness about sanitation to prevent from diseases and urged all healthcare workers to give/share knowledge to the parents/guardians about homemade ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) as diarrhoea is a common illness which affects people of all age group.
Meanwhile, CMO Dr Y Nokul said IDCF is aimed at reducing mortality and malnutrition rate due to diarrhoea with the usage of ORS solution.
He said ASHA workers should make the parents aware about preparation and use of homemade ORS solution.
As part of the programme Zinc tablets and ORS packets were distributed to the ASHA workers.
ZEO Thoubal A Anilkumar, district hospital MS Dr Ch Memcha and ICDS Cell DPO Th Suranjoy were the other presidium members of the programme.
