Biren seeks support to form BJP Govt

Stating that running a coalition government of different political parties is a tough challenge, chief minister N Biren has appealed to the public to support BJP in the 2022 state assembly election so that the party could get absolute majority to form a lone government in order to turn the state into an actual land of jewel.
Attending a political conference organised by BJP Mayang Imphal Mandal at N fomchou public ground at Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai on Monday, Biren said that he has many responsibilities on his shoulder as leader of the state assembly.
He would not only give reply to questions raised by opposition members but also supplement to responses of his ministerial colleagues.
At the same time, he would note down questions from the oppositions and also turn back to see if the MLAs in the treasury bench are still present in full strength.
In his attempt to bring closer the hill and valley dwellers, he convened cabinet meetings in hill districts.
During one such meeting in Ukhrul district, he expressed a major setback in ensuring all the ministers attend the cabinet meeting.
The incident was widely reported in local media.
In such situation and in policy framing, running a coalition government is a tough challenge.
The government got only two and half years to take up actual development works in the current term due to Covid-19 pandemic and yet it could not show its full potential as the government was a coalition one, he said while urging for public support to bring about a lone BJP government.
Ahead of the 2022 election, several likeminded individuals are flocking to BJP and many more will join the party in the days to come.
BJP wants politicians who cherish happiness of the public.
Mayang Imphal MLA K Robindro is one such young politician who dedicates his life for the public.
He has all the characteristics of a true and committed politician which is why the government gave him the post of deputy speaker of the state assembly.
His post allows him to have flag post on his vehicle, Biren said.

A fund of Rs 65 crore has been sanctioned for construction of a district hospital in the - constituency and the credit goes to Robindro and his father.
The government is also planning to shift the DIET Centre from DM College campus to Mayang Imphal.
Moreover, the Centre will soon sanction Rs 500 crore project for double laning of the Mayai Lambi highway, he added.
A Haj house will be constructed at Lilong at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
An Imam has donated the land plot and foundation stone for the same will be laid soon.
One should never forget that Meetei Pangals and Meeteis share the same blood and both communities will always co-exist, he said while urging all concerned not to fall prey to communal politics.
Mayang Imphal MLA K Robindro said that the constituency need a leader who can give equal treatment to all communities living in the constituency.
Development will automatically prevail in such a society.
The constituency would see fast pace development if it were not for Covid-19 pandemic, he said while urging for public support to bring further development in the constituency.
