while urging the public to also regard the upcoming assembly session with all seriousness.
Maintaining that peace has yet to be restored in the state, Sujata reasoned that internally displaced people are still unable to return to their homes or move freely as they once did.
She continued that while Imagi Meira has no objections to discussing the state's development or the budget for the next financial year, it should be a priority for both the ruling and opposition parties to address the state's current situation and work towards resolving the issues.
"The assembly should dedicate at least three days to discussing the core issues of Manipur and give them primary attention," she exerted.
Sujata also pointed out that the state government has yet to report the root cause of the crisis and propose solutions to the central government.
While expressing resentment that the state and the central governments have different perspectives on genesis of the conflict, the president also demanded that both the ruling and opposition parties submit a white paper to the central government to clarify their-stance, while deploring the inability of the current state government to effectively communicate with the central government on the crisis.
She also rued the manner in which MLAs and ministers are summoned to Delhi by national leaders before every assembly session and questioned the rationale for ministers and MLAs attending the Kumbh Mela at a time when the state is in turmoil and its people are suffering.
"This certainly gives the impression that they are indifferent to the situation in Manipur and this will not bring solution to the crisis in the state," she added.
