NADCP launched in Kakching, cattles, dogs vaccinated

The Joint Director of District Veterinary Office, Thoubal, launched the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) for eradication of 'Foot and Mouth Disease' (FMD) and brucellosis in livestock.
The programme was held at the premises of Union club Thongjao Kakching, today.
During the launching of the programme, around 287 cattles and 89 dogs were vaccinated against FMD/BQ and rabies respectively.
The programme which is entirely funded by the Central Government aims at vaccination of over 500 million livestock against FMD across the country.
The programme also aims at vaccination of 36 million female bovine calves annually in its fight against brucellosis.
The State Government aims to vaccinate around 3 lakh livestock animals.
The livestock which will be covered under this programme includes cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats and pigs against Foot and Mouth Disease.
