Jiribam, September 05 2014 :
/, Sep 5: As a result of the ongoing ban on vehicular movement along the national highways imposed by United Naga Council, (UNC) in the aftermath of the August 30 Ukhrul incident, a number of passenger and goods vehicles have been stranded at Jiribam since yesterday.
Vehicles to be plied from Jiribam to Imphal or Tamenglong remained off the roads due to the UNC imposed bandh along the national highways in Naga inhabited areas.
Over 30 stranded goods trucks have remained reportedly parked at Leingangpokpi in Jiribam.
Even though no untoward incident has been reported so far, non-plying of vehicles has caused inconveniences to the passengers going from Jiribam to Imphal and vice versa.
Jiribam people seeking health services at Imphal are also facing trouble due to the bandh.
