MSCW fact-finding team visits Jiribam

Imphal, December 04 2024: A fact-finding team comprising chairperson and two members of the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW), which was set up to investigate the brutal murder of three women and three children visited Jiribam on November 28 .

A meeting chaired by Jiribam DC was held on November 29 with the MSCW team.

Officials of various line departments overseeing daily affairs of the relief camps were also present.

The police department, Social Welfare department and the Medical department took active initiative in the meeting and raised their immediate and long-term concerns in dealing with the prevailing situation.

The MSCW team also held another meeting with the Special Superintendent of Police and nodal officers of the relief camps and discussed administrative issues and ways to improve the living conditions of the residents.

The team also inspected the One Stop Centre of Jiribam district and had a discussion with the employees there.

Later, the team met the families of the victims and heard their grievances.
