Imphal, December 02 2023:
Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has questioned the authority or relational position of Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM) for inviting chairmen/secretaries, 'Pei'/village authorities, women organisations/societies, youth organisations/clubs, religious leaders, student organisations, intellectuals, bureaucrats and politicians to the programme of NSCN-IM, 'People's Consultative Meeting on Indo-Naga Political Peace Process' slated to be held on December 6 at Tamenglong HQs.
In a statement, ZUF emphasised that the general Naga society or Naga CSOs in time past and present have never singly attached or supported one particular faction or for that matter used a singular Naga tribe by Naga faction for their self-interest in open public manner.
"What logic or rationale has RNCM now displaying its one-sided game before the public, hand-in-glove with NSCN-IM? .
The general public or all Naga citizens know fully well that the Indo-Naga Political Peace Process has ended with no solution in hand for the Nagas as expected".
Claiming that NSCN-IM is now playing to buy time with the Naga people just for maintaining their status as 'majority people support group' and maintain their position, ZUF accused the NSCN-IM of ceding the Naga national movement to India through the Delhi Accord (Framework Agreement) like that of the Shillong Accord.
The statement continued, "Whatever or however, design or good excuse or blame they could make to cover the surface of the wound, it could not hold or cover the truth long.
The effect of the cause will be exposed and the reaction of the people will be bitter on that day.
Any attempt of NSCN-IM to oppose or react against India for failure of the Indo-Naga talk will only amount to self-destruction, confusion and distrust mounting for the Nagas" .
"The proposed consultative meeting of NSCN-IM organised by RNCM is seen to be an attempt to befool and belittle the Rongmei and Zeliangrong people in general.
The attempt of NSCN-IM, to poison and disease the Zeliangrong people with the politics of cynicism and division so as to derail the ongoing Zeliangrong political talk process with the Government of India will have consequential repercussion on the Nagas," it said.
ZUF also asked the RNCM to refrain from having nexus with NSCN-IM and put off the proposed consultative meeting in the interest of Rongmei community and Zeliangrong in general.
The Front further cautioned NSCN-IM to restrain its policy and refrain from undue interference in the Zeliangrong political affairs and interest.
"We appeal and urge the Rongmei people from attending the proposed premeditated consultative meeting that will bear no good fruition for our people except remorseful realisation," it added.
