Imphal, November 02 2024: Naga People's Organisation (NPO) Grievances Cell, Senapati has announced restriction on all forms of commercial vehicular transportation to the Kuki areas with immediate effect in response to the seizure of commercial items belonging to a Naga woman from Senapati at the Gamgiphai CoTU gate on October 29 .

As per a notice issued on Saturday by NPO Grievances Cell, Senapati convener and NPO, Senapati have an agreement that exempts all Naga community members from any form of illegal taxation.

However, incidents of harassment and unlawful taxation continue unabated, violating this mutual agreement between our communities, it added.

The NPO asserted that this measure will remain in force until the Kuki community tenders apologies and commits to upholding our standing agreement in both letter and spirit.
