Newly elected ATSUM executives sworn in

The oath taking cum handing and taking over charge of the newly elected executives of ALL Tribal Students' Union (ATSUM) for the 2013-15 was held at the conference hall of Senapati District Women's Association at Senapati today.
On the occasion, Emboi Serto was sworn in as the new President, Marahang Ngiimei as General Secretary, Hemang Haokip as Finance Secretary, Kakam Haokip as Education Secretary and Adani David Mao as Speaker.
The erstwhile 'Interim Body' of All Tribal Students Union, Manipur (ATSUM) carried out its election on June 25 at Kuki Inn, Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Emboi Serto ATSUM stated that ATSUM was formed way back in 1972 with a vision for the tribals.
But today that vision has become a dream and how we make this dream to into reality is now in our hands and within the reach of the tribal students' body.

While acknowledging that the road ahead is never going to be easy, he stated that the union under his leadership will try their best not to fail in their duties and responsibilities.
He further maintained that the interest and integrity of the tribals will never be compromised under any leadership and appealed to all the concerned to walk together hand in hand.
Former ATSUM president Dr John Pulamte advised the new executives of ATSUM to work cohesively among the tribal organisations so as to address the problems confronting the tribal people in the state.
Former ATSUM leaders and its federating units also participated in today's programme.
