Imphal, January 02 2014: In a shocking incident, a mother of five children was found murdered with at least three stab wounds allegedly by her nephew at Kiyamgei Muslim Awang Leikai under Irilbung Police Station in Imphal East district yesterday.

The victim identified as Sagomshungbam Sahida (55) was found dead lying in a pool of blood inside her grocery shop at Kiyamgei Muslim Awang Leikai around 6:30 pm yesterday.

Police said prima facie they believed she was stabbed to death.

Outraged over the murder of Sahida, local residents of Kiyamgei Awang Leikai burnt down the house of the alleged murderer identified as Noor Khan (18) early morning today.

The accused murderer is said to be a nephew of the victim and he is reported to be a drug abuser.

He has been arrested by police on a charge of murdering his aunt.

The accused reportedly attacked her with a sharp knife inside the shop, and robbed of her gold earrings, Rs 10, 000 in cash, and mobile phone top up coupons kept for sale.

The victim was taken to Raj Polyclinic, North AOC here, but she was declared brought dead by the doctors the same night.
