Assam Rifles conducts 'Doctor at the door step' campaign

Imphal, September 01 2014:
26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a Composite Health Camp under the banner 'Door at the door step' .
A Combined Team of Medical and Dental Officers, fully equipped with their equipment based on mobile vans provided treatment to over 1000 patients in far flung villages of Chandel Dist.
The drive commenced on Aug 29 and 30 covering Imol Satu, Thamlapopki, Thamla Kuren, Kotinphai, Helgreu Tampak and Lamphu Tampak villages.
The Dental Officer with state of the art Mobile Surgical Platform attended to patients of all ages.
Speaking to the villagers, 'Brig Rajiv Chhibber, Commander, 26 Sector Assam Rifles, reiterated that the People Friendly Assam Rifles was ever prepared to help out the local populace and these initiatives were a clear reflection of the same.
The Commander further highlighted that these events personify in spirit the very motto of Assam Rifles, "Friends of North East" and assured that many more of such activities shall be planned in future.
The locals thanked the Assam Rifles for this much needed friendly gesture and appreciated the need based programmes being conducted in the district.
This was yet another people friendly gesture, which shall go a long way in cementing the close ties between the Assam Rifles and the local populace, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
