Two bridges inaugurated in CDL

Chief minister N Biren inaugurated Maha bridge constructed over the Maha river along Pallel-Chandel road and Liwa Sarei bridge in Liwa village on Friday.
The virtual inauguration function organised by district administration Chandel was also attended by DC Chandel Mayanglambam Rajkumar, political activist SS Olish, ADC Chandel CEO Kshetrimayum Siddarth, ADC Chandel Md Firoz Khan, BJP Chandel district president Sk Angshel Lamkang and others.
Olish unveiled the inauguration plaque and cut the ribbon during the event.
Moyon Naga Baptist Association executive secretary Rev professor Koningthung Ngoruw said the opening prayer for Maha bridge while Liwa Sarei pastor G Khartu conducted opening prayer for Liwa Sarei bridge.
In his speech at the event through video conferencing, CM Biren extended New Year greetings to the people and said that development will come only when there is peace and cooperation from the people while the state will regress without the proactive involvement and participation of the public in the government's efforts to bring positive changes.
He said that the Pallel to Chandel road is now fully developed due to support and cooperation from people residing on both sides of the road.
He also lauded the role played by political activist Ss Olish in upgrading Pallel-Chandel road to a national highway and thanked PM Modi, Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari and Union finance minister for upgrading the road to national highway.
According to Olish, both the bridges inaugurated on Friday were constructed with quality control within a short period of time and thanked the chief minister and the construction agency for completing the bridges and handing them over to the people as New Year gift.
She also said that people are witnessing faster pace of development during the present government when compared with the previous government.
