Anti Drug Women Organistion, Moijing organised a public meeting to control and eradicate drug abuse at Moijing Meena Bazar, Thoubal today.
Md Abdul Latif, member, Leishangthem ZP, Md Waris, Moijing Gram Panchayat and Rishikesh Sharma, OC, Thoubal police station attended the meeting as the presidium members.
The public meeting resolved that every section of the people should lend its support to the initiatives of the Anti Drug Women Organisation and seek cooperation from the police regarding drives against drug abusers conducted by the organisation.
The meeting highlighted the need to check the growing drug abusers in the State by inclusive participation of all the stakeholders.
It also stressed on the need to create a safe environment for the younger generations.
Speaking at the meeting, Rishikesh said that people participation is key to controlling drug abuse.
He gave an assurance to the Anti Drug Women Organisation that the police are always ready to help the organisation in its drive against drug abuse.
Former Superintendent of Police, Hussain Jaman, social workers, Md Kheiruddin and Mad Walik also spoke on topics related to drug abuse and its impact on the society.
