AR and police destroyed 7 acres of illicit poppy cultivation at T Langhoimol village

The Assam Rifles on December 27 in collaboration with Henglep Police Station, successfully destroyed approximately seven acres of illicit poppy cultivation in T Langhoimol village, Henglep subdivision, Churachandpur.
According to a release issued by IGAR (South), the operation, which began in the morning and concluded by afternoon, forms part of Assam Rifles' ongoing efforts to combat the production and trafficking of narcotics in the region.
The destruction of these poppy fields marks a significant step in addressing the root causes of drug addiction and the illegal trade network that poses a serious threat to the social and economic fabric of the state, said the IGAR (South).
This initiative reinforces Assam Rifles' commitment to peace and security in Manipur, especially amidst ongoing tensions.
