Birla Emporium investors form core committee

Imphal, December 29 2020: United Manipur Birla Emporium Committee (UMBECO, Manipur) today urged the investors of Birla Emporium and IRA Finance to stand united to recover either interest or principal deposit.

Irungbam Gohen, co-convenor UMBECO said at a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club that UMBECO was formed to address the grievances of investors of Birla Emporium and IRA Finance after they kept on hold all interest pay outs and principal deposits since March citing the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, in recent weeks many such organisations have come up and started working in their own capacity to recover their share and has led to some unfortunate incidents, he added.

Following these incidents, a core committee was formed on December 27 by investors and some staff of Birla Emporium to unite the investors in their effort to recover their deposits, he added.
