INDIA Bloc set to protest outside PMO

Displeased with the Government's response to the unending cycle of violence in Manipur, the State unit of Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) Bloc has resolved to stage a sit in protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office in New Delhi.
The resolution was taken during an emergency meeting of INDIA Bloc held at Congress Bhavan today.
Among others, the meeting also agreed to seek an appointment with the Central leadership and mount pressure on them to restore normalcy in Manipur.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting at Congress Bhavan, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president K Meghachandra said that the meeting was convened to exchange views on why the Central Government is letting the unprecedented crisis in Manipur to persist.
Saying that Chief Minister N Biren Singh still don't pay any attention to the proposal being forwarded by INDIA Bloc to convene an all political-party meeting so as to work out a solution to the crisis, Meghachandra maintained that they had also urged the Chief Minister repeatedly to request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Manipur.
The Congress leader further said that INDIA Bloc in Manipur had also advised the Government to call all the 60 MLAs for a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office if the Prime Minister has no time to visit the strife tom State on numerous occasions including during Assembly sessions.
Asking why the Chief Minister is still not seeking an audience with the Prime Minister, the MPCC said that the Chief Minister should take an appointment to meet the Prime Minister so as to restore normalcy in Manipur.
He, meanwhile, said that the Government closing schools and despite having enough security personnel is unfortunate.
State secretary of CPI (M) Ksh Santa said that 12 resolutions were taken during the meeting.
Santa is the convenor of INDIA Bloc.
He said that some leaders of the Bloc will go to New Delhi in the next few days and seek an appointment with the Central leadership in advance.
Saying that today's meeting also discussed the disappearance of one Laishram Kamalbabu from Leimakhong Army base on November 25, he appealed to both the Centre and the State Government to put in extra effort to rescue the missing person.
Former Minister Kh Ratankumar and representatives of State units of Shiv Sena (UBT), CPI (M), RSP and AAP also attended the press briefing among others.
