CM urged to appoint new TA&H minister

Imphal, February 28 2024:
Ten tribal MLAs have appealed to chief minister N Biren for appointment of new Tribal Affairs and Hills minister in-charge to look after the affairs of tribals and hills efficiently and effectively.
The ten MLAs are SS Olish, Leishiyo Keishing, Ram Muivah, Khasim Vashum, J Kumo Sha, Losii Dikho, N Kayisii, Awangbow Newmai, Janghemlung Panmei and Dinganglung Gangmei.
In a letter addressed to CM, it pointed out difficulties faced by the innocent citizens of Manipur due to unrest in the state and rued that the Tribal Affairs and Hills Department has been rendered defunct for the last ten months due to absence of the minister concerned.
Pointing out that a functional department is essential in this hour of crisis to look after the needs and development of tribal and hills areas of the state to bring over-all peace and progress in the state, the MLAs appealed for appointing new Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister in-charge at the earliest possible.
