Ukhrul has become leading district: Asnikumar

Imphal, January 28 2023: Loktak Development Authority (LDA) chairman and BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson M Asnikumar Singh has stated that with the coming of the present BJP led government in Manipur, Ukhrul district has become a leading district in the state.

Speaking as chief guest of the seed sowing festival 'Lui-ta/Luta Phanit' (Lui-Ngai-Ni) celebration of Lunghar village in Ukhrul district on Saturday, M Asnikumar informed that following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of inclusive development, the state government under the leadership of CM N Biren has taken up numerous initiatives to catapult Ukhrul to a higher orbit of growth.

"Gone are the days of the previous governments when many hill districts like Ukhrul were ignored from the development dialogue," he said.

He also highlighted the significance of Ukhrul's unique, beautiful culture and its numerous contributions in a wide range of fields be it politics, administration, music, sports, fashion, cuisine, etc.

"Ukhrul has produced two chief ministers, numerous decorated officers, renowned singers, entrepreneurs, footballers, artistes, etc.

Ukhrul's identity is an indispensable part of Manipur's identity.

The contribution of Ukhrul and its people cannot be ignored," he added.

Asnikumar further expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the village chief, village authorities and the people of Lunghar village for having him as part of their truly special occasion and conveyed the village his best wishes for the future.
