Guv mourns for demise of Dr Lala

Imphal, November 27 2012: Governor Gurbachan Jagat has conveyed his condolences to the family members of eye specialist Dr M Lala who passed away few days back.

In his condolence message, the Governor stated that the contribution of late Dr M Lala towards the humanitarian cause in the State is immense.

"His contribution as the general Secretary of the India Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch and as a member of the Managing Body of the Indian Red Cross Society, National Headquarters, New Delhi will be difficult to follow", he said, and added Dr Lala's enormous contribution will continue to inspire new generations.

While sharing his profound grief at the tragic and great loss of the State, the Governor also stated that "His (Dr Lala) death is a loss not only to the family members but also to the State of Manipur and the Manipuri society" .
