Kakching, March 26 2018: The 16th foundation day of Macha Chanu Kakching was held at Library and Information Centre Kakching auditorium today.

Releasing of book, distribution of awards, recitation of poems were the main events of the day.

Manipur Sahitya Parisahd Imphal president Professor Thoidingjam T Tombi (Lalit Kala Akademi Awardee), Manipur Sahitya Parishad Thoubal District, Wangjing branch president M Rajendra Singh, macha Chanu kakching president Dr Nongmaithem Pramodini Devi attended the programme as dignitaries.

A book titled 'Chinglon Laihui' written by Naorem Amuyaima Singh was released while former Pradhan Guru of JN Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal, Padmashree Shougaijam Thanil Singh was awarded with 'Chandrashakhi Laishram Lifetime Achievement Award 2018' and Padmashree Heisnam Sabitri was awarded with 'Debajani Kakching Lifetime Achievement Award 2018' .

They awardees were given a cash of Rs 10,000 each along with shawl and citation.
