Imphal, August 25 2011:
Manipur Chemist and Druggist Association (MCDA) has appealed to the Sadar Hills District hood Demand Committee (SHDDC) to ease the economic blockade for trucks ferrying in medicines to Imphal.
Appreciating the move of the SHDDC and UNC to allow medicine ferrying vehicles to reach Imphal, the MCDA further appeals the SHDDC to allow not only ambulances carrying medicines but also to permit trucks carrying medicines to reach Imphal as was done in previous economic blockades.
Speaking to media persons at a press conference held at the office of MCDA at Roopmahal Tank today the General Secretary of the Assn, RK Ratankumar said that since it is not possible to bring in the whole lot of medicines required for the whole state in ambulances, it is appealed to SHDDC to allow trucks carrying medicines labeled with Chemist logo and Life Saving Drugs.
