Vaccination drive spreads to remote areas in Kpi

Kangpokpi, June 25 2021:
Intensifying the vaccination campaign in remote areas of Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency, local MLA Nemcha Kipgen in collaboration with COVID Task Force Irang area and the medical team organised a mass vaccination drive at Gorkhajhil in Irang Part-II on Friday.
The mass vaccination programme was also supported by ADC Sadar Hills ex-members BP Vikas Basnet and Sagar Gewali, and TSA Sadar Hills COVID-19 vaccination team.
Around 138 people were vaccinated during the drive.
Monsoon shower and unfavourable weather condition badly affected the vaccination turnout.
MLA Nemcha Kipgen via a phone call addressed the masses encouraging them to get vaccinated at the earliest while stressing the importance of vaccination.
"Let's all come together and fight the dreaded COVID-19 and make our assembly constituency a COVID Free AC sooner rather than later", said the MLA.
She also appreciated the medical team, volunteers of CTF Irang area, former ADC Sadar Hills members and Assam Rifles personnel for their support and cooperation in making the vaccination programme a success.
Meanwhile, 44 Assam Rifles Ban-glabung under the aegis of 22 Sector Assam Rilfes IGAR (E) led by Col Pradeep Kumar, Commandant 44 AR and Commandant Shyam Sundar Shah, Chief Medical Officer 44 AR organised a free medical camp during the mass vaccination programme where free medicines were also given to the people.
The Assam Rifles officials, medical officials and former ADC Sadar Hills members also participated in a tree plantation drive after the mass vaccination programme and free medical camp.
The COVID Task Force Irang Area chairman Man Kumar, on behalf of the people of Irang area, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the local MLA for her tireless efforts and commitment towards combating the dreaded COVID-19 and for the safety of the people.
He also conveyed gratitude to 44 Assam Rifles Banglabung, medical department, TSA Sadar Hills COVID 19 vaccination team, former ADC Sadar Hills members and other local bodies for the free medical camp and the vaccination programme.
