307 second wave patients in Thoubal recover

Thoubal, May 24 2021:
After the Covid positivity rate dropped down to zero from March 14 to March 19 in Thoubal; 669 people tested positive, 40 died, 307 patients recovered and 322 are still active cases in Thoubal during Covid-19 second wave till Sunday.
The IDSP report issued by District Surveillance Officer Dr Trusty on Sunday informed that in all 3207 people have been confirmed for Covid-19, 90 people have succumbed while 2795 patients have recovered in Thoubal district till date.
Covid cases in Thoubal dropped to nil from March 14 to March 19.Later, from March 20 onwards detection of new Covid cases started again in the second wave of the pandemic.
Out of the 322 active cases, 122 Covid patients are residing in six Community Home Isolation Centres while 47 are undergoing home isolation.
Meanwhile, a total of 36,186 people have been inoculated with the Covid vaccine first dose while 5713 have received the second dose.
According to State Health Service report issued by District Family Welfare Officer and District Vaccination Programme nodal officer Dr Ksh Memcha, 517 people in the age group of 18 to 44 years were given the first dose of Covid vaccine on Sunday.
Mention may be made here that vaccination drive for people above 45 years is being conducted in 14 vaccination centres of the district since January 16 .
Two vaccination centres including Laipat Leikai Health and Wellness Centre, Khangabok Part 3 and Health and Wellness Centre, Thoubal Wangkhem vaccinate people in the age group of 18 to 44 years every Wednesday.
