2 arrested by Imphal East commando

Imphal, March 24 2018: A combined team of Imphal East district police commando and 5 JK Rifles personnel arrested two UG cadres today .

According to a reliable information , acting on specific information, a combined team of 5 JK Rifles and Imphal East district commando, along with women police personnel of Imphal East district, conducted cordon and search operation at Kachikhun Mamang Leikai, under Patsoi PS, today morning after giving information to Imphal West control room.

During the search operation, the combined team arrested one PLA woman cadre identified as Mayanglambam Sanatombi alias Riyaz (35) w/o K Beikun of Kongba Kshetri Leikai (presently staying at Kachikhun Mamang Leikai) and recovered a mobile phone from her possession at around 9.15 am.

The arrested woman was later handed over to Patsoi PS for taking up necessary legal action.

On the other hand, Imphal East district police commando acting on the information shared by 5 JK Rifle, launched cordon and search operation at Keirao Khunou, near MASSI complex, under Irilbung PS. During the search operation the police arrested one self styled sergeant major of UNLF identified as Yumlembam Tombi alias Yuhenba (40) s/o Y Chaoba of Keirao Mayai Leikai.

The police also recovered a mobile phone from his possession.

During preliminary interrogation, Yuhenba revealed that he was directly involved in the killing of one driver of ANSAR Company at Leimaram in 2009 .

The arrested person was later handed over to Irilbung PS for taking up necessary legal action.
