Imphal, December 22 2020: A mass congregation was held today at the Community Hall of Keirao Bitra Litan Makhong organised by Panthoibi Leimarol Lamjing Meira Association and Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA), Imphal East District Committee to urge the Government to take the 2018 drug haul case to a higher Court.

Dipanjit Ningthoujam, vice president of CADA said that the acquittal of Lhukhosei Zou reflects that there is a high possibility of serious lapses while framing the charge sheet of the case.

In order to restore the faith of the public in the judiciary, he appealed to the Government to take the case to a higher Court and award befitting punishments to those involved in the drug case.

Another sit in protest was staged at Kakching Khunou Bazar organised by All Kakching Khunou Meira Paibi Welfare Association and CADA.
