Thoubal, June 22 2021: Preparations are on for intensifying the Covid-19 mass vaccination programme in Thoubal district from June 25 .

A district level officers' meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (Thoubal) Ram-nangmei Rang Peter was held at his conference room on Tuesday.

The meeting resolved to provide all the expenditure for mass vaccination programme by district administration and elected representatives at GP level including pradhan and ward members will take vital roles in the programme.

Speaking to media persons, Ramnangmei Peter urged the people to come out and participate in the Covid vaccination drive.

The only way to prevent from the infectious virus is by administering the vaccine, he added.

CMO Thoubal Dr Y Nokul said that in view of low turnout of people in the ongoing vaccination drive in Thoubal district, the state and central governments have given instruction for intensifying the mass vaccination drive.

So, people who are eligible to get the vaccine should inoculate themselves so as to prevent the spread of the virus, he added.

The meeting was also attended by SDO Thoubal and Lilong, CMO Thoubal, District hospital Thoubal Medical Superintendant, SDCs and DFWO Thoubal.
