Indefinite economic blockade threatened

Committee for Kojirei-Dzukou Land Boundary Resolution (CKDLBR) on Thursday asked the State Government to take immediate steps against the encroachment by the Nagaland Government in the Dzukou valley under Senapati district.
Speaking to the media persons at Manipur Press Club, CKDLBR spokesperson N Rajen, said that the Directorate of Integrated Royal Tourism Government of Nagaland has been constructing a road in the Dzukou valley from last year.
Rajen sought the immediate resignation of the elected 60 MLAs if they were not interested in protecting the State boundary.
Rajen said the committee was formed on May 15 to resolve the land dispute between Manipur and Nagaland in the Dzukou valley.
He said that Mao Council and Mao Students' Union sought intervention of the Manipur Government in the matter since last year.
However the Government has been silent so long.
Many civil organizations from Manipur have given ultimatums to the State Government to intervene the matter before May 22 .
Rajen appealed to the public to support on the 24 hour state wide general strike from May 22 midnight till May 23 midnight against the land encroachment at Dzukou valley.
If the Government remains silent on their demands the committee further threatened to impose indefinite economic blockade from June 1.Rajen was unhappy with the statement of the Chief Minister of Manipur to the media persons on the Dzukou valley land encroachment.
Rajen said Mao Council and Mao Students' Union had complained to the Senapati DC who in turn had instructed the Tadubi SDO to make a spot inquiry.
With the instruction of the Senapati DC, Tadupi SDO has inspected the place on November 11 last year and the reports have already submitted to the Chief Secretary of Manipur.
Mao Council submitted a memorandum to the Manipur Government on April 23 and again Mao Students Union also remained the Government to take immediate measures before May 22 .
Still the Government did not take up necessary steps to resolve the issued.
The road has been constructed by Chief Engineer of Nagaland Government one Patton and Contractor Jalho Angami.
The State Government should take all responsible if any untoward incident occur with the Nagaland and Manipur People.
He warned.
