Tamenglong College hosts Youth Parliament

Imphal, March 21 2025: Organising Committee Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2025 and NSS Unit, Tamenglong College, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organised Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament-2025 at Tamenglong College on Friday.

A release issued by Tamenglong College informed that the programme was attended by Tamenglong DC Dr L Ang-shim Dangshawa and ZEO N Abonpou Christopher as special guests, and College principal Dr Kinthuijinang Maremmei as the functional president.

The district-level Youth Parliament held on the topic: "One Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat" was participated by youth of Tamenglong and Jiribam districts, shortlisted from the 251 entries regis-tered in the MyBharat portal.

In his speech, Dr K Maremmei appreciated the participants and encouraged them by highlighting the significance of "Viksit Bharat" or "Developed India" which is one of the visions set by the Government of India for achieving by 2047, the centenary year of India's independence.

He also advised the participants to strive for excellence in their future careers.

Towards the end of the deliberations, ten youths were shortlisted to represent the district in the state level VBYP to be held later this month.

Tamenglong College BSc 2nd semester student Changkhanliu Ngaomei, BA 3rd semester student Pamei Genevieve Gaikanpou and BA 6th semester Jukthan-lung Gonmei were declared the best, second best, and third best parliamentarians respectively, and awarded accordingly.
