Imphal, July 20 2022:
All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) in collaboration with different organisations and Meira Paibi associations organised a torch rally against drugs abuse and trafficking from Canchipur to Singjamei on Wednesday night.
Interacting with the media during the rally, AMUCO president Nando Luwang said that youth of the state, despite having many talents and potentials, are wasted due to various issues, which have been affecting them, their potentials and socio-economic conditions among others.
As a result, the Manipuri society is moving backward.
Amid such various issues, the issue of drugs abuse and trafficking is becoming a major cause of concern as it is often the root of multiple issues.
Keeping in view of the gravity of the drug menace that the state is experiencing, AMUCO in association with Poirei Leimarol, AMAWOVA, MSF and Singjamei to Lilong United Clubs' Organisation organised the torch rally with participation by residents of different localities from Singjamei to Lilong.
He called upon the public representatives and political leaders to come forward along with their workers while keeping aside political differences and join hands to root out drug abuse and trafficking from the soil of the
state for the survival of the indigenous communities.
He also stressed the need for a mass movement to fight the issue and called for public support in this fight.
