Imphal, January 20 2018: Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the State on the occasion of Statehood Day.

She stated that Manipur attained Statehood on January 21, 1972 and became a member State of the Indian Union.

She mentioned that the State has progressed as a result of the collective efforts of the people and appealed to the people to work together to bring peace and prosperity in Manipur.

Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar Singh also conveyed greetings to the people of the State on the joyous occasion of Statehood Day.

He mentioned that the day gives the people a responsibility to bring development to the State and urged the people to stand united and maintain peace among the various communities inhabiting the State.
