COCOMI demands

Demanding the legislators of the State to adopt a united resolution to protect the integrity of Manipur, during the on-going State Assembly Session, the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has cautioned that any negative consequences in the future will have to be the sole responsibility of the Government for failing to respect the sentiments of the people.
A statement issued by the media coordinator of COCOMI today reiterated that it, along with the people, welcome an end to the Naga political issue, but compromising the integrity of Manipur as well as any arrangements for establishing Territorial Council based on ethnic line or any changes to the administrative set-up of Manipur are totally unacceptable.
Reminding that the Union Home Minister expressed desire for the creation of Autonomous Territorial Council, during the consultative meeting with COCOMI and State Government representatives on November 25, it conveyed that in light of such development, it has become important for the peoples' leaders to adopt a concrete stand for the welfare of the people and the State Demanding the leaders, casting aside ideas of Ruling or Opposition, to adopt a united resolution during the on-going State Assembly Session to protect the integrity of Manipur, COCOMI warned that if the leaders fail to heed the demands and sentiments of the people just for saving their positions, then COCOMI will not remain a silent spectator.
